Lou in NYC in January 2001
I made my second-ever trip to New York City in January 2001. Pictured from left to right is me (in the Tennessee Titans jersey), Brook Gardiner (in the Randy Moss "Punishers" jersey), and Bob Lonergan (in the New York Giants jersey). The numbers actually have a secret meaning, just like the numbers on Lost. Only joking. The interesting thing is that between the three of us, we captured 8 of the 13 championships in our Fantasy Football League (through our first 13 seasons). Notice that I had hair then (but it was fading fast) and no goatee. Why the missing goatee? Because I flew directly from NYC to Tampa for my job interview at WTSP. Following the interview, the station waited two and a half months... and then finally hired me as a news producer (which is how I ended up moving to Tampa).
An interesting sidebar: the person who took the photo was Brook's roommate at the time, Domingo Villaronga, who ended up joining our Fantasy Football League beginning with the 2005 season. It's interesting how things can turn out...
