There's a certain surreal quality to knowing someone is reading one of these commentaries in front of me... laughing about lines or maybe taking in an insight or two. It was interesting last night at work to hear Amy Barnett laughing about my The Weekend Experience commentary from Sunday. "I didn't know it was that bad," she said. I didn't embelish, I just observed. Sometimes a memory is a blessing, other times it's a curse. If there would be an addendum to the Saturday story (which was more about the trip to Chick-Fil-A than the actual work experience, which I kind of enjoyed despite the sleep deprivation), it would be that Amy said that I was actually doing one of those "start to fall asleep but you catch yourself" deals Saturday night as I approached the 24 hours in a row awake mark. In hindsight, me driving home from work couldn't have been the most safe thing in the world, caffeine or no.
Should be some good times coming up... Ted Daniel and Amy Leone's going-away party is this Friday, then back-to-back weekends in Nashville and Starkville after that. And at the end of October -- Guavaween 2002. Ahh yeah.
The next few weeks should have a tremendous bearing on my both short-term and long-term future. Wish me luck. Can't elaborate beyond that right now.
My Snipers are 3-0. Try to go for 4-0 this week... without Manning or Harrison. It will be a definite challenge...
