Hotel Guinness

Sunday
October 30, 2005

It's going to take a day or two to write the novelette that is the story of the Guavaween 2005 weekend. I don't have time to do that now, but I can at least go over some details that might be out of place and not fit in the flow of the story.

The weekend was a great time and a definite success. It took some time management planning by me to try and make everything fall into place just right, and with the exception of guessing wrong on when the malls closed tonight, it by and large worked out well.

The decision to get a spray-on tan on Friday was a good one. As you'll see once I get my pictures up on here, I actually match my bro Matt and my friends Richard and Andy Karg as far as looking tan goes. That is unlike Guavaween 2003, where I looked very pale in comparison with the rest of the crew.

It was a great weekend for football, both college ball and the NFL variety. Unfortunately in the suicide pool I was in, I took the Bucs today. Who lost... to the 49ers. Argh! I should've remembered what I saw in the pre-season, when the Jaguars defense flummoxed Chris Simms. Live and learn, friends. Live and learn.

Andy Karg brought the Triumph the Insult Comic Dog DVD, which was hysterical. The part where he was on the NBC affiliate in Hawaii doing the weather was one of the funniest things I've seen this year. It's worth hunting down the DVD for that scene alone.

Matt and I played some PS2 games: I beat him in a Survivor Series match in Showdown: Legends of Wrestling (Sting, Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant and Bret Hart beat Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ricky Steamboat and Jake Roberts); Matt whipped me in NCAA Football 06 with Wisconsin over Purdue, with Brian Calhoun tearing it up on the rush just like in real life; and in NBA Live 06 Matt edged me with the 80s All Stars over the Indiana Pacers. Matt had never played Live 06, which is why we did it that way.

There are many stories and many pictures to be shared... Coming soon.
