Say what you will about last night's Yankees/Red Sox game (and I will), but it should go down along with the other all-time classics as a game to remember. Nearly six hours long, 14 innings, neither side giving in... it was classic.
And I say that knowing that the Red Sox won. David Ortiz is a bad man, I'll give him his due. But now Boston has to turn around on 21 hours rest and win two more in a row over the Yankees -- this time in the Bronx. There's a reason that no team has ever recovered from an 0-3 hole in MLB history. It's just so demanding. And as Sportsline.com's Scott Miller said: "The Red Sox have discovered another way to jack up New England's hopes again before another heartbreaking fade."
Speaking of the Red Sox, what's the deal with their batting helmets being rubbed in mud to the point where the "B" is illegible? They spend all this money to have their uniforms look just so, and then they make their batting helmets look like they've been used by seven years olds on a playground on a muddy day.
We're two weeks from election day, and time is closing in. The stretch run should be interesting, both with Bubba's campaign as well as with the Presidential race...
