Anytime a story begins with "Don't put this on your website", you know it's probably going to be good. The downside is that I can't share it with you, but I hold true to my word and protect my confidences. I mention this only because I've heard this as a precursor to two stories in the past few days. Such is life. And no, it has nothing to do with anything at WTSP; with the Executive Meddler gone, I really don't care what they do there anymore, so long as my friends who are still left there don't get screwed over.

I had a dream last night that I went to my 10-year high school reunion (slated for next month), but only four people, including myself, showed up for it. Because invitations were late going out for it to some (and for others they haven't even received invitations), I'm afraid that the turnout will be disappointing. But I'm penciled in as "Scheduled To Appear", that nice phrase they use for big boxing or pro wrestling PPV events to give the promoters protection in case someone has to back out at the last minute.

Oldies 96.3 WMAK-FM in Nashville flipped to Variety Hits yesterday as 96.3 Jack FM. The format is running wild. I just now am up to date with things on VarietyHits.com as far as all of the markets go; getting the information for all of the stations in Canada took some time, but I got the job knocked out Wednesday night (and then yesterday sealed things with the updates of the stations that flipped yesterday). I just today finally sent out info to the major radio sites (All Access, FMQB, R&R, etc.) asking them to mention VarietyHits.com on their site. Being a new site and all, it takes some time for people to find out about it. I did receive a nice e-mail early this morning from Bob Perry, who was a co-creator of the JACK-FM format, though he said that until just very recently he was unaware of the site. That was a bit by design though, as I wanted things to be fully functional and accurate before I promoted it beyond links from my collection of sites.

One site that I am giving up is the Tennessee Wastewater page (my Dad's company). My brother Matt is taking control of that, along with setting up sites for some of the other connected companies. The sites will all be able to look uniform, and plus Matt is right there in Nashville to work with them on it versus me being in Tampa trying to work it in with what free time I have. The way I found out was a little odd, with Matt calling me on my cell phone and letting me know that way. But ultimately it's about helping the family business get maximum results, and Matt has shown with his work on KargBoys.com that he can design some really good, graphically-pleasing sites. I could be a baby about things and pitch a fit, but that would do no one any good. Matt can do the job very well, and he has more time to devote to the site than I do. And ultimately, I want what's best for the company, and I feel strongly that this will be better for TWW in the long run. Moreover, I can teach Matt some tricks I've learned in the nearly 10 years I've been programming websites (the 10 year anniversary of my website hits this August), including the all-important URL piggyback trick that I learned from a friend of mine from college (the old Hughes Hall days at UE), Zach Collier.

Going over the latest on TV: 24 seems to be setting up for a nice, clean wrap-up, but something tells me there are a few more twists and turns yet to go. For next year, I hope they do away with the awkward, forced romantic moments (usually lasting 20-30 seconds) that are worked in there, presumably to placate the female demo. It's the most awkward placement of it this side of Star Wars: Episode 2... I was pulling for Rob and Amber (pronounced Amb-uh by Boston Rob), but if not them winning then I'm glad it was Uchenna and Joyce. Joyce shaved her head to finish a fast-forward, and any woman willing to go all-in like that deserves to have a shot at the cash at the end. Plus it made for a better ending, since those two were well-liked while Boston Rob and Amber were the "bad guys" of the show (and it's a rule that every reality show needs at least two rudos to keep things interesting)... The Lost episode this week had some horror movie elements, including when Walt freaked out on Locke about not opening the capsule. The two hour season finale next Wednesday should be thrilling... Survivor was intriguing last night. They did a great job of making it look like it was going to be a last-minute decision as to who would go, but Caryn got voted out. I'm glad. As long as worthless Jenn (who looks hot but does little else) doesn't win the money, I'll be happy. Personally I hope it comes down to Ian and Tom, though I think Tom will need to win out on the immunity challenges for that to happen... For some reason I thought the Apprentice season finale was going to happen last night. They showed the last task (with Scott Massey's early favorite, Tanna, showing weakness, though IMO she got the much tougher of the two tasks). You ever see on The Price Is Right when one Showcase Showdown is much better than the other? Well in this case I felt the video game challenge that Kendra got was much easier than organizing an entire Olympic presentation, complete with the Governor. But we'll see how it plays out next week...
