"I hope I don't end up like you
Oh, you know what I mean, yes you do..."
-New Order "Sooner Than You Think"

Well, the process than began a little more than one and a half years ago is over, as Tiffani Sherman has given her two weeks notice at WTSP. She's the second-to-last of the producers left from when Lane Michaelsen became the station's news director in October 2001 who is still working in a producing capacity for the station. As I mentioned in this space last month, her departure was an inevitable conclusion.

The only producer left is Alexander Quince, who produces the noon newscast, but in this game of 10 News Survivor he's holding the immunity idol. So he'll keep his job. I don't even think the Executive Meddler is allowed to challenge him.

It's been interesting to see all of this play out. It didn't take long into the game to figure out that they were looking to get rid of the producers (either by moving them into non-producing positions or by terminating their employment) one by one, and it became amusing to do things that made that point painfully obvious. I don't begrudge them the choice in doing that; they felt that change had to be made, and they had the right to make that change. But what I took exception to were the sneaky maneuvers used in trying to shield what they were doing.

Picklock Music is alive on the internet. It's still in its very early stages, but we're rolling right along and hope to have our first batch of test CDs ready to go soon.

I can't believe that the Minnesota Wild are in the NHL Western Conference Finals. They were down 2-0 last night to the Vancouver Canucks in Vancouver. But amazingly they came back to win. They'll now face the Anaheim Mighty Ducks for the right to go to the Stanley Cup Finals.

(Read that last part again -- the Wild vs. the Mighty Ducks for a shot at the finals... old-school hockey fans around the world are cringing at that).

One annoying thing about watching the game on ESPN was the unnecessary "Game 7" bar that hung below the time/score graphic. Yes, I know it's a Game 7. Those are special. But is it necessary to leave it up there the entire time?

The Kings/Mavericks NBA game last night was a barnburner. That's NBA basketball played the way it should be, with fast up-and-down the court action, pinpoint accuracy and physical (but not dirty) play.

Try as they may, the Lakers fans I know have been unable to goad me into trash talk. Like I mentioned yesterday, until that series is over, I'm not talking any smack.

Talk with you on the flip side of Orlando...
