Five Limes

Monday

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Gotta love a day with a built-in excuse to drink Coronas and margaritas and party it up. I'm not sure if I'm going to do anything tonight for it, but living so close to Ybor you never can tell. Plus my friend James is in town, and he was wanting to go hunt down some Tampa 5/5 fun.

I met up with James for lunch today at Maggiano's, a nice Italian restaurant at the Westshore Mall in Tampa. I'd eaten there once before, and I found today that the food and service was just as good for the lunch crowd as it was when I had dinner there. The chicken sandwich I had was really good, and their bread was fantastic.

There's nothing like knowing you need money to inspire you to work. I've been busting my butt trying to get this music distribution company started. Between my friend Zach Collier helping me on the web end and me soliciting companies for sub-contracting the actual CD creation on the other, it's been a bit time-consuming. But that's fine -- it'll be worth it when the operation is up-and-going.

Meanwhile, things are continuing to go well with my work with Bubba. It's frustrating sometimes how long it takes to make things happen, but once the ball starts rolling I'm convinced that plenty of good things will happen.

Lakers vs. Spurs is on tonight, along with three NHL games. I love sports. I mean, if all I had to look forward to was CBS' Monday night comedy block... well I guess I'd find something else to do.

I saw the movie Mr. Deeds on Cinemax last night. It was a bit disappointing, though with it being an Adam Sandler movie it still had enough slap-stick hilarity to keep things funny (though it was strange seeing another actor copy some of the patented Sandler mannerisms). Actually, it makes me want to see the original that it was based on, the 1936 Gary Cooper film Mr. Deeds Goes To Town (which was a nominee for Best Picture in 1936).

Finally, thanks to my friend Ryan Priest for recommending a fun site with several end games from classic game shows:

Classic Concentration's end game is probably my favorite of the bunch. Winning a Dodge Viper? Yeah, I support that...
