Orlando Thoughts

Wow, I'm caught back up on sleep and then some now. Which is nice, though sometimes I think it's possible to get too much sleep. Leaving you feeling groggy, etc.
Saw the third period of the Maple Leafs/Hurricanes game tonight from Raleigh, NC on ESPN. Curtis Joseph played a masterful game in a 1-0 Toronto win, keeping the series alive for a Game 6 up in Toronto. Detroit and Colorado are tied at 2-all in their western conference series... Who knows, that might turn into a 7-game classic there. We shall see. At least there's the guarantee of no less than two more games to be enjoyed in what is shaping up to be the best hockey rivalry of the past 15 years (in my opinion).
Right now the Cubs and Astros are playing on WGN, the only sports on that I can find (outside of softball). Wish I had been awake to see the Celtics win over the Nets -- I bet that was an intense game.
Looks like Google is finally starting to add some of the older commentary sections to their search engine. About time, if you ask me.
For a Saturday night, I don't feel particularly in a party mood. Go figure I guess. Sometimes three-day weekends will do that; by the time the shenanigans of Thursday and Friday night are said and done, sometimes I just feel like chilling on Saturday. But with the madhouse in Ybor calling my name, I may have to see what's going on. You never know what to expect on an Ybor Saturday night. Especially on a holiday weekend.
Icon in Orlando ended up being kind of a bust last night. Pretty dead atmosphere, which surprised me. We then ended up at some other bar (whose name escapes me at the moment) which was kinda small but had a decent crowd for a Friday. Some nice women, too (this is Florida, after all), and a fun time. I do like the downtown Orlando scene -- it's a nice change of pace from Ybor every now and then. Familiarity breeds contempt, so they say. Though it's hard to have much contempt for the craziness that is Ybor...
