In Like A Lion

Tuesday
March 1, 2005

I had a phone call tonight on my cell phone from a phone number I didn't recognize. It only identified the number as "Georgia" (as in the state), so I allowed it to go to voice mail.

It turned out to be my friend Stacey, who now lives in the Atlanta area. She was calling to remind me about the season debut of The Amazing Race tonight, which I'm appreciative of, since I would've forgotten otherwise. But on the voice mail I misunderstood what she said the first time. It sounded like "Amazing Grace", which I found puzzling. I was wondering if Stacey had changed since she had moved up to ATL. But no, it was just a misunderstanding, and when she said it the second time on the message the proverbial light bulb above my head went off.

Today is "cut day" for my fantasy football league. It's actually quite interesting for me, as in a carryover league that doesn't have cuts or roster moves during the season, this is the only chance for dead weight to be eliminated from the league. I've kept track of player movements since the keeper element of the league went into effect in 1999; the player directory is now a rather massive file. The time may come where I'll need to break it down alphabetically, but for now I'll keep it the way it is.

That's all for now, but hopefully I'll have time for more tomorrow.
