Vague Is Good

Sunday
March 7, 2004

The first 1990s nostalga show is airing this week on cable (either E! or VH1, I forget which one). As if I needed something else to make me feel old.

I'm taking my first-ever trip to California this upcoming weekend, as I'm using my frequent flier trip to fly from Tampa to Oakland on Southwest Airlines' tab. If I'm going to use it, I'd best get my money's worth, eh? At first I was disappointed about having to fly into Oakland, thinking I'd need to take the BART (the San Fran/Oakland public transit system) into San Francisco... but it turns out that my friend Glenn Brown lives over on the Oakland side (California geography is not my strong suit).

On the downside, my friends Andy Farnum and Nimesh Patel will both be out of town that weekend. With all the stuff going on with Bubba, this was a rather last minute deal (but I had to book it for next weekend -- the free flight expires on March 21). Hopefully Ronnie Aquino will be in town.

My high school classmate and friend Brian Stockwell has debuted his own website: check it out at BrianStockwell.com. So much for my cybersquatting plans! (Only kidding, Brian.) Brian is a talented artist, which you'll be able to figure out in a hurry when you visit his site. It's the perfect platform for Brian to not only display his artistic creativity, but also his business skills and his professional abilities.

Last night was a good time. My friend James came back to down last second style, and we ended up hitting bars from St. Pete Beach to Channelside. Too many surreal/hazy moments to recap on here... But it was fun.

Right now the Lakers and Nets are playing on ABC... only both Kobe Bryant and Jason Kidd are out with injuries. I'm sure the network powers-that-be are loving that...
