Migraine Fix?
Friday
June 23, 2006
I suffer from migraine headaches. They've plauged me off and on for six years, dating back to my time in Huntington, WV. Migraines are horrible, with a pain that pulsates through your skull and leaves you completely incapacitated. Luckily, there are medicines out there to manage them (and to deal with them if they attack.) But even with that, I keep a close eye on the news to see what new information might be out there on them.
Two new stories about migraines crossed the newswires this week. One linked migraines with people who have a high sex drive. I believe that. The other one mentioned the development of a new zapper device that you put against the back of your head. It sends a quick magnetic pulse which researchers say triggers an electric current in neurons in the brain, preventing the initial onset from developing into a full-blown migraine. If that proves to be effective, it could make a huge difference in the lives of everyone who suffers from that horrible curse.
At work on Thursday I did a Google search for the phrase home developer show. The first entry to appear? The official website for the now-cancelled FOX television show Arrested Development. It's funny how the internet can work sometimes...
Not much else to say for now -- I'm about to hit the road and head to Nashville for the weekend. My bro is having a party at his house tomorrow, which should be a good time.
