The Supreme Court has stuck it to all of America, taking away another personal liberty -- the right to remain silent (pre-arrest). Now if you don't tell the police your name upon being stopped on the street, you could be arrested. Here's the story of today's 5-4 vote. That does it... I'm voting Libertarian in the 2004 presidential election.

Party time at Icon in Orlando, FL
Me, Amanda, Adam & Gary partied at Icon in Orlando, FL.

Moving on to happier things, this past Friday night in Orlando was a great time. My friend Gary Graham turned 28, and he and I celebrated his birthday at a club called Icon. We met up with our friends Adam & Amanda, who I hadn't seen in more than a year. A rather well-known South Florida DJ named Infiniti was the main attraction at the club, and though I personally was unfamiliar with him going into the evening, people at the club were pretty excited about him making a rare live appearance (apparently he doesn't do live gigs very often).

I'll have to hand it to Gary, he is pretty well-connected in the Orlando club scene. He was going around saying hi to all of these people who he said he'd met out at various times. His connections proved strong enough to get all four of us into VIP, which was nice. Earlier in the evening I had been ribbing him about "politicking" with the masses, like he was running for city council or something. But, hey, it paid off. As designated driver I kept my drinking to a minimum, though with it being Gary's birthday Adam and I supplied him with drinks a'plenty.

It was a fun time and all, though the club scene in general doesn't do all that much for me anymore. Maybe I'm just getting old. Damn. Hitting the bar for a few drinks is still fun and what not, but when you have to scream to be heard... well I've never particularly cared for that.
