During my lunch break today I went by the EB Games store on Dale Mabry and put my pre-order down for Showdown: Legends of Wrestling for the PS2. The list price is $49.99, but pre-orderers there get the game for $39.99. That's some sweet action. The original LOW ended up being a major disappointment, but it appears that the third game in this series has improved things a great deal. At least I hope so. So we'll see how that works out.

Also, while at EB Games I discovered that EA is releasing a "Collector's Edition" of Madden 2005 that they (EB Games) will be selling on the pre-order tip (exclusively for the PS2). It's pretty smart if you ask me; get people to commit to buying it there and then give them something extra (they have some special features with the "Collector's Edition", including a couple of old Madden games included with this year's). If you're going to spend the $50 anyway, why not go all-in and get the souped-up version?

I already have a myriad of websites going, but I think a site about the PlayStation 2 Disc Read Error would be a good idea. The PS2 Disc Read Error is a major problem, and from someone who's seen those three horrid "Disc Read Error" words too many times in the past, it'd be nice to help explain the problems people are having with their PS2 and also make sure that they don't unwittingly waste $150 (or whatever it is) on a unit or stupidly pay Sony to fix it (when the company will fix the Disc Read Error problem when called on it). To read more on the Disc Read Error experience I have, read this for a primer and then... well, maybe I'm not well versed enough in my own archives, but I don't see the story on how I sent my PS2 to Sony twice to get the Disc Read Error problem fixed twice and finally ended up with things working properly. Hmmm. All the more reason to devote a subpage, or perhaps a unique URL, to the topic...
