Take that, Karl Malone! The Detroit Pistons blew out the L.A. Lakers last night to win the 2004 NBA Title. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Detroit work as a team against a much less motivated Lakers squad. Phil Jackson said after the game that there's a "slim chance" that he'll be returning to the Lakers (which tells me the answer is no), while Kobe Bryant is opting for free agency (though his court situation in Colorado might cause problems on that end). Hopefully this will open the door for the Spurs to step it up as the team to beat next year in the West; with Tim Duncan in his prime and an early 20s Tony Parker emerging as a star, I see no reason why that can't happen.

I received an add-on in the mail yesterday to one of the most addictive games ever made, The Sims. I bought the "Livin' Large" expansion CD off of eBay for pretty cheap, and from what I got to play of it, it's a nice addition. Nothing profound, but with four new neighborhoods it gives room for new characters to be created.

I've added something new to the site, a guestbook (note: due to spam, it has since been deleted -Lou.) Unlike past guestbooks that I've used on previous incarnations on my site (dating back nearly to the beginning days in August 1995), I have control of the page here locally. So we'll see how it works out. I have the capacity to ban specific IP addresses and what not, which may prove helpful.

This just in: bringing a deadly snake to a crowded bar is a bad idea. I know this sounds like common sense, but apparently not to this guy...
