If you're a company looking to hire people to do person-to-person cold calling sales, don't you think you'd give potential new employees the heads-up as to what the job would entail? I interviewed with a place today that was real excited about wanting to bring me in tomorrow for a full day interview/training event. I was a little skeptical, so I went to the company's website (which it turns out is a different name than the one used by the local company). Only then did I find out what it truly entailed. I promptly called and canceled the follow-up. No sense in wasting my time or theirs.

Kelly from Bubba's show gave me a heads-up that if a place wants someone with "hardcore attitude" or "Limp Bizkit attitude", it's probably cold-calling, usually telemarketing. Keep that in mind if you ever find yourself in such a situation.

We're all set to launch the BTLS show in Wichita this week. That will be exciting, for sure. Plus hopefully a few of the other possibilities will be moving into alignment as well. Incidentally, I'm not at all looking to stop working for Bubba... just looking for opportunities for a second job.

The San Antonio Spurs are your 2002-2003 NBA World Champs, and I couldn't be happier about it. The scene last night in San Antonio gave me chill bumps, with David Robinson celebrating as a champion in what was all but likely his final NBA game. Robinson and Duncan holding up the Championship and MVP trophies, respectively, was a sight to behold, with the 15 minute looped version of Queen's "We Are The Champions" playing in the background.

A strong second to Robinson was Kevin Willis, who spent nearly 20 years in the league before playing in his first finals this year. He ran the gambit of emotion, from adulation to tears of joy. And how about a class move by Spurs coach Gregg Popovich in getting Steve Smith in for the last few minutes, Smith's first playing time of the entire Finals. Well done.

Give New Jersey point guard Jason Kidd credit for allowing an on-court interview from Stuart Scott after the game. I'm not sure that many of his peers would've been as accommodating. The smart money is on Kidd returning to New Jersey next season, as due to salary cap reasons the Nets can outpay other potential suitors (like the Spurs, who I'm hoping will go after Jermaine O'Neal). One theory I heard at work today was San Antonio picking up a player like Alonzo Mourning for a year, then making a run at Kevin Garnett after next season. It's a nice idea, but c'mon, Minnesota won't let him go for free. No way. The T-Wolves would break the bank before they'd allow that to happen.

But mark my words: if the Spurs sign Jermaine O'Neal, they'll win the championship again next year. And probably many more after that.

One of the packages I mailed at the Post Office for Picklock Music on Friday came back to me today. The reason? No postage! Funny, I recall paying for postage for all of the packages. I guess 46 out of 47 is, as they say, close enough for government work...

(And to think, some people want their health care to come from the government. Have you ever waited in line at the DMV?!? 'Nuff said)

I dozed off tonight listening to Phil Hendrie on 970 WFLA (on a rare night without the Devil Rays pre-empting him), and when I woke up WFLA was in the Coast To Coast AM show (formerly the "Art Bell" show). Wow, you want to have some messed up dreams, try that sometime. There's some unintentional comedy though when callers, being completely serious, say things like: "I think one of my high school classmates is an alien." They make Medicine Man sound like Socrates.

Big Dick at 98 Rock asked me for some friendly advice on who would be better to hold onto in his keeper fantasy football league: Travis Henry or Terrell Owens. He already had LaDainian Tomlinson, but had a second slot to fill. I contemplated it and ultimately advised him on Owens. As it turned out, his league decided to just allow for one keeper spot, but the fact that the Henry/Owens debate was so close was interesting. I think I'll just celebrate having both Tomlinson and Henry on my fantasy team (along with Manning, Harrison, Rice, etc.) and smile...
