Odds & Ends

After watching Big Brother 5 on CBS last night, I ended up watching The Amazing Race as well. And, much to my surprise, I found Amazing Race to be rather interesting. The caviar-eating "roadblock" had a little too much of a Fear Factor feel to me, but beyond that it was entertaining. Plus the team with the midget on it made it to the next round, which was good from a comedy standpoint.

My latest addiction is Diet Mountain Dew Code Red. Damn, that drink is good. I tried it once with low expectations, considering how much I don't care for regular Diet Mountain Dew... but something about the Code Red takes it from undrinkable to addictively good. I've been running through the stuff like nobody's business. It's great.

One downer to drinking diet drinks is that when friends come over wanting regular drinks, they're often out of luck. I bought a 12-pack of Coke for that very purpose, but it disappeared pretty quickly. In some ways I figure it's my place, you're gonna get what I have to offer and that's that. But the magnanimous side of me wants to at least have *something* to offer that people who don't like sugar-free drinks might like.

Two things I still want to do on DVD: 1) dub Ladies Man over and cut out the Will Ferrell scenes, and 2) dub Memento over and put the movie in sequential order. Both are worthwhile efforts, I think...
