"Time doesn't give a reason."
-Counting Crows "High Life"
It's amazing to me that half of 2003 is already gone. I thought that by escaping from the overnight shift I'd somehow be able to slow down the passing of time. But that's not the case at all. I turn 26 next month, which is both astonishing and slightly scary for me.
If you've seen the movie Private Parts, you might recall the scene where the radio station executive in New York City freaks out because Howard Stern is saying some extreme things on the air at WNBC. I always thought that scene felt a bit phony -- I mean, wouldn't the station brass know the material of a controversial new hire?
But then that exact thing happened to me this week. On a smaller scale, mind you. But I guess now, five years later, I have to put that scene over as being on the money.
This weekend is shaping up to be a good one. Shock collar karaoke tonight at The Coliseum, meeting up with some friends down in Channelside on Friday night for the 4th of July, and then Saturday a pool party at my apartment complex. Should be fun.
For lunch today I tried the Wendy's Southwest Chicken Ceasar Salad. And... it was really good. It could use a lighter dressing with it, but taste-wise it was excellent.
