So Many Times We Tried
July 31, 2002
"So much time wasted
Playing games with love"
-Lenny Kravitz "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over"
"Again, how many times have I heard this
Kinda funny, but I wasn't even nervous"
-Pink "You Make Me Sick"
48 hours from right now, I'm gonna be in New Orleans. You have no idea how excited I am about this. Very nice. The last time I was there (beyond connecting on a flight) was for Mardi Gras 2000, nearly 2 1/2 years ago. So it will be quite nice to make a return to the Big Easy. I love that city.
Though the 2 1/2 year thing makes me sad just typing that. Cause it sure as hell doesn't feel like that long. And turning 25 next month, I'm learning more and more that time can fly by entirely too fast. Not good.
Beyond that, I've had by far my most enjoyable week of work in 2002 this week. It's been nice to remember again just how much I love what I do and how much fun it can be under the right circumstances. And this week certainly has fallen into that category.
Hints, implications, and things written around the edges. Kinda funny how things can echo real life.
My bro Matt's been telling me more good things about NCAA 2003. Apparently the first run of the rosters on ncaarosters.com is up now. When the update goes up, definitely gotta be shipping my memory card to my bro so he can copy his info over to mine. At least I've been so busy lately as to not be distracted by wanting my PS2 back right now, etc.
It appears that a baseball strike is looming. Go ahead, fellas. You'll all be screwing yourselves on this one.
Tried some of the "Just 2 Good" Ranch dressing tonight and... uh, not so impressive. The Italian dressing version of that is really good, though. The Ranch might make a good vegetable dip though. Gotta try that.
Need to e-mail Carli my list of Counting Crows songs now. Should get one or two more of these up before I hit the Big Easy...
