Something Chosen

Carli's heading up to Pittsburgh tomorrow. Should be a fun trip for her, though it will deprive us of the opportunity to talk smack about the Steelers/Titans game at work on Friday. Oh well, she can mourn with the rest of Pittsburgh over the Steelers loss on Saturday (at least I hope the Steelers lose to the Titans). Best case would be the Jets and Titans winning; that would put the AFC Championship game in Nashville. Actually, there's a chance that the conference championship games could be in Nashville and Tampa, respectively. That would be pretty nice.
I've been working on an NFL 2003 Mock Draft page. It still needs to be completed as of this writing, though the draft order itself isn't even set yet (Cardinals/Cowboys at 5 and 6 are actually a coin flip decision; the playoff teams' seeding depends on who goes how far in the postseason). But it's fun. And two years ago, my old AOL page mock draft received an unreal number of hits. The 2003 version is on an early pace to match that.
If I never hear the phrase "Just so you know" again, that would be just fine by me.
When the temperature nears freezing, people in Tampa go into a panic. For people with outdoor plants and crops and all, it's understandable to a degree. But it's funny how people who seldom if ever have to deal with the cold deal with it when old man winter finally arrives.
At some point I have to send my PS2 back to Sony again. The
Sega Sports Tennis game I received from my brother Matt for Christmas won't work on my PS2. That pisses me off to no end. So much for technology making life easier...
Speaking of Matt, I have his PS2
NCAA Football 2003 game here ready to mail. That and the tape of the last episode of this season's
Sopranos (my friend Marvin from work still has it). Meanwhile I still need to send my sister Mary Beth the Junior Saint CD that I inadvertantly forgot to bring along in the case home for Christmas...
My attempt to buy
Wall Street Kid for the Nintendo on eBay failed. Maybe I should just locate the ROM for it, but still for a few bucks I figure it's worth giving it a try.
Time-Warner Cable has dropped Sunshine Network for the time being from its programming lineup. This is most frustrating for me and other Tampa area sports fans. I know that negotiations can be tough, but this isn't helping anyone. Tonight's Lightning game won't be seen in Tampa unless you have satellite or DirecTV. The teams are hurt, the cable subscribers are hurt, and the network is hurt. Advantage: no one on this...
