Leap Day

Sunday
February 29, 2004

How many of you forgot that this was a leap year and thought for a moment or two (or more) that March began today. Ahhh, but not until tomorrow, dear reader. Yes, the bonus day, 2-29, where birthdays and anniverseries hide out for years at a time. The extra day of rent on a short month. The exception to the rule.

Katt, Lou & Lina
Katt, Lou and Lina enjoyed a night at Splitsville in Tampa.

This weekend was a much needed chance to relax and unwind. On Saturday my friend Katt and I met up at Hooters along with Katt's friend Lina, who was really nice as well. So there I was, at a Hooters, no less, with two gorgeous women on a Saturday night. Good times.

From there, we went to Splitsville, which sounds like a place where couples would go to break up... but it's actually a rather uniquely designed bar/nightspot/bowling alley. For those of you who know Tampa, it's located at Channelside where the old Pop City used to be. The bowling was expensive by bowling standards (almost $6 a game), but they had SportsCenter up on flatscreen plasma TVs to watch between frames, so I wasn't complaining.

Also, maybe it was the motivation of my company, but I bowled a 152 in my first game -- the best game I've had in years. What sucks is that it could've been better. I was on a tear. I had three straight strikes, in the zone... when the machine only set up 9 pins. For $6 a game I want 10 pins every time, thank you very much. By the time we got it all fixed and figured out, I was out of my zone. I threw two gutter balls. After a turkey (three strikes), I threw two in the gutter. Unreal. Had I stayed on track, I could've broken 200. Oh well. Here are more pictures from the evening, if you care to check them out.

Now the new week awaits, with more merchandise orders, more media requests to handle, and hopefully some resolution coming soon on the future of the BTLS show. We shall see...
