Lou Pickney's Online Commentary

Wild Times

Thursday
February 26, 2004

What a chaotic week it has been. Yes, that's the word for it. Chaotic. And it's not over yet.

I'll be brief, since I have 300+ e-mails to respond to (no exaggeration), and I don't have Kid Jersey on my staff to say "Thank You" to the (mostly) positive response.

How many hits have I been getting? Well, according to alexa.com, my RadioHotTalk.com webpage has had 217,202 hits. Today alone. Having a site with detailed info on both Bubba The Love Sponge and Howard Stern has been quite adventageous for me.

Meanwhile, with the BTLS show crew staying quiet, I've had the national media coming after me. It's insane. Today alone I've received phone calls from ABC Nightly News, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC (three times, including a producer who somehow located and called my cell phone number, which is unlisted -- that move impressed me), CNN... you get the idea. Plus the local media too is all over it as well. I hear that BubbaArmy.com was on WFLA-TV's 11 PM newscast tonight. Of course, since I didn't get home from work until 11:30, I didn't get to see it for myself.

So much for objective journalism: Bay News 9's Al Ruechel wrote a scathing column about Bubba on Glenn Beck's website. Bubba has never once said anything bad about Mr. Ruechel before, public or private. But Bubba is well aware of what he wrote. And Bubba has a great memory, especially when it comes to people who knock him.

Time to delve into the e-mail bag, then it's back to DigiQuest for more work tomorrow...
