Well, I waited for the phone call from Super Millionaire. And waited. But... nothing. Unfortunately, I was not one of the lucky people randomly selected to be a semi-finalist for the call-in game. So it goes.
The poll results are in, and what you the readers have told me is that you want more pictures of me making out with random girls on 7th Avenue! Oh, wait... check that. Actually I got more negative feedback about the pics from the 2/22/2004 commentary (particularly the last two, which I removed) than I have on anything on here in a long, long time. Live and learn, eh? There's a fine line between good storytelling and revealing too much, I suppose.
The last 24 hours have not been easy. At all. Now I know how people in the news feel when they're being constantly hounded by news reporters and the media. Yes, Bubba was fired from Clear Channel. No, I'm not allowed to officially say anything more than "No Comment" -- we all have our rules.
There are some angry listeners out there, though. My phone at work was ringing non-stop today. I had to turn the ringer down to mute and not answer it, as otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get any work done.
The real kicker is that today was the biggest single order day on BubbaArmy.com since November. That really befuddled me. Go figure. I suppose some people think the merchandise will be collector's items or something. Let them think that -- we'll make more. All I can say is that you haven't seen the last of Bubba The Love SpongeŽ in this city.
Also, yesterday I nearly doubled my all-time hits record, with in excess of 32,000 hits. I'm on pace to surpass that mark today. I presume people searching for info on Bubba is a major contributor to the hit increase...
