I finally got around to watching the Jimmy Kimmel Live show from last Wednesday... and wow, what a treat. David Cross and Bob Odenkirk from Mr. Show were on there and were absolutely hilarious, as usual. Their "Joe Billionaire" and "Joe Blow" skits reminded me of their Mr. Show greatness. Good to see those guys get more exposure.

One phenomenon I have yet to comment on is the mini-napkins that are now en vogue at places like McDonald's and Burger King. I appreciate the convenience factor, but c'mon guys, those are some really small napkins. Not enough to cover a person's lap, for sure. It occured to me at Arby's today that it was nice to have regular sized napkins. But I digress.

If you've watched any ESPN college basketball in the past day or so, you know that it's Judgment Week. ESPN feels the need to give everything a catchy title. This became annoying during NFL season when every segment on Countdown had some forced name (like "The Mayne Event"). But in this case, I think it's pretty catchy. It applies, and it helps build the anticipation toward the holy grail of college athletics, the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

As for this year's setup, I think the Big XII is the strongest conference in the country. Stronger than the ACC or SEC (and remember, I'm an SEC loyalist). Texas Tech is probably NIT bound; put them in the Pac-10 and they'd be in for sure, I think. Such is life.

By the way, there was unintentional comedy galore in the Texas Tech/Oklahoma State game on ESPN tonight with the cutaways of Eddie Sutton. You remember those commercials in the late 80's with the singing California Raisins? That's Eddie Sutton to a tee. Only instead of singing and being charming, he looks and acts every bit the role of a crotchety old ballcoach. But he's a Hall of Famer, so I suppose he can do as he pleases.

A song I'm liking right now is "All The Things She Said" by Tatu. Good tune. Also, I invite you all to check out the songs available (for free) online from the band The Features. I think my favorite is "Speed of 33 1/3". Click here to download it. Listen and enjoy. The entire list of songs available online is available by clicking here.

Something Corporate's performance on Friday is even more impressive to me in learning that the lead singer of the band was sick that night. He referenced feeling under the weather at one point, but it was bad enough that they had to cancel their 97X acoustic session. So hats off to him for sucking it up and putting on a great show.

I'm trying something different tomorrow night... I'm going to a "Speed Dating" event in Clearwater. The idea is that you meet and talk with 8-10 girls and spend a certain amount of time with each of them. The company I'm going with does it in I think 6 minute segments; others go a little shorter. We'll see how it goes. A little change of pace from the Ybor craziness, at least.

Tomorrow we go into full court press on the printers. Gotta get this promo stuff ready to go...
