Robin Bakay Pictures

Friday
December 5, 2003

"Even the best years leave a lot to be desired when they pass you by..."
-Counting Crows "Baby I'm A Big Star Now"

Apparently the exposure on ESPN hasn't hurt Robin Bakay's popularity at all. A passing reference to her in this column landed me in the Google Top 20 for "Robin Bakay Pictures", which in turn has lead to that search string finishing among the leaders for searches on this page for November and December 2003. Advantage: Lou.

Tonight was fun in a relaxed sort of way. I hung out with my friends Kim and Deann and watched the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious on PPV. The girls seemed to think that actually wasn't Tyrese in one of the lead roles (hadn't they seen Baby Boy?), though to be fair I amazingly didn't recognize Ludacris in the beginning with him having a giant afro.

I could use some more hellraiser type friends in Tampa. With James in South Carolina, Riley gone from Ybor, and Todd Martin working weekend nights, there's not really a whole lot of people I know to go holler at the ladies with and get rowdy with in town these days. Perhaps that's a symptom of getting old. Most of my guy friends are in relationships or married and what not, which is good for them and all, but doesn't help me much when the weekends hit as far as providing backup for hitting the clubs. I need some wingmen up in this bitch. Or something like that. Though it makes it all the more refreshing when people like my bro Matt or my fraternity brother Justin come to town and we set things straight with the ladies and the drinks in this sometimes crazy city.

XM Satellite Radio
Listen to XM Satellite Channel 152 from 6-10 AM EST to hear the Bubba The Love Sponge show.

Speaking of Matt, he put out his Christmas wish list tonight, and he included XM Satellite Radio on it. Now that'd be cool; he'd be able to listen to Bubba The Love Sponge live on XM Channel 152 up in Starkville, plus he'd get many other great shows (including the brilliant Phil Hendrie) and a nice variety of music to boot.

The 2001 version of Ocean's Eleven is excellent; seeing it after having visited Las Vegas is even cooler. It was on one of the premium movie channels earlier this evening (it won out rather quickly over Zoolander; it was good for some laughs and nice with the cameos, but Zoolander was no Ocean's Eleven). Ocean's Eleven remains the only movie I've ever tried out to be an extra on (not that the extras in the scenes shot in St. Petersburg got more than a flicker of screen time, though).
