"All I see are dark gray clouds
In the distance moving closer with every hour..."
-Death Cab For Cutie "Tiny Vessels"

Well, Javon Walker did it. Green Bay WR Robert Ferguson suffered an injury in the first quarter of last night's Packers/Raiders game, and Walker stepped in and promptly caught two first half TDs. The Pigs beat my Hustlers to win the 2003 FFL Championship. Arrrgh. Bad times.

I finally saw the end of the first Lord of the Rings movie last night. Wow, what a tremendous film. The acting is really underrated (it gets lost in the deep story and amazing cinematography), but the lines are pulled over tremendously well. I can't wait to see the Two Towers (and the last of the three movies in the series as well, which is in theatres now).

As I type this, TCU and Boise State are playing on ESPN. It's an intriguing matchup of two Top 20 ranked programs. Clearly TCU has the advantage playing in Ft. Worth, but at least Boise State didn't have to play a bowl game in their own city this year (on that bizarre blue turf up there in Idaho).

Trying to get the last bit of my Christmas shopping done, I decided to brave the crowds and hit Wal-Mart after work (going to the South Tampa location that I usually loathe). But... it wasn't that bad. The parking lot was ridiculously packed, and there were plenty of shoppers there, but it wasn't the mob scene that I had suspected that I might find. I even managed to check out in a halfway reasonable amount of time (though that might've been helped by being in the 12 Items Or Less line). There were plenty of parents in there, accompanied by kids who seemed to all be misbehaving and driving them crazy. Ahh, the holidays.

24 hours from now, I should be back in Nashville. And I can't wait...
