The Big 30

Friday
August 24, 2007

Here I am at that big signpost that says "30". Hmm. Funny, I feel the same, but here I am. At 29 you're hanging on; you hit 30 and you're over into the next bracket.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to wish me a happy birthday. With MySpace and Facebook making birthdays easy to find out about, I've heard more well wishes today that I ever have on a birthday. Yet another reason to love the internet.

Since I'm older now, here's something on an intellectual level: an explanation of the Neocon philosophy. I've never read it explained as well as it is here. It's from The Neoconservative War on Terror and Sin by Ira Chernus, and it's brilliant in its depth of research and analysis. You may agree with it, you may not, but at the very least you should be impressed with the level of depth and analysis that went into creating it. Why Mr. Chernus chose to put his book online I don't know, but it's well worth reading.

Now it's time to have a very non-intellectual and hopefully uproariously fun weekend! If you'll be out and about in Nashville this weekend, perhaps you'll see me at the clubs.
