Super Chargers

Tuesday
August 3, 2004

Oh those San Diego Chargers. Seemingly saddled with top five draft picks every year, they're notoriously cheap/tough negotiators (depending on your point of view). Consequentially, holdouts are a direct result. LaDainian Tomlinson, Quentin Jammer... and now Philip Rivers. The Rivers situation is especially complicated, as the Chargers are slotted for #1 pick money, and Rivers wants #1 pick money, but San Diego wants to pay him #4 pick cash. The negotiations therein should be interesting. You have to think that both sides will reach some sort of an accord, though it's a tricky situation with the slotting involved.

I found out today that my friend from work Stacey Luckey is leaving to move to Atlanta. This has me really bummed out. From working in the TV news biz from 1997-2003, I had plenty of friends come and go and became accustomed to that sort of thing. But it still is a major downer.

Next week is the two hour season finale of Joe Schmo 2 on Spike TV. It should be quite entertaining. This week's show was funny, with Gerald complaining that because he beat T.J. in a dance contest, he should've been given his spot to the finals. I have a feeling that there are going to be some legit hurt feelings when it's all said and done...
