Double Tropical
Wednesday
August 11, 2004
Two days from now I'll be in Nashville, visiting my family and spending a nice weekend at home. That is, if I can beat the clock on Hurricane Charley.
Right now there's a tropical storm in the gulf that's milling around, and while it's not posing much of a threat, they were talking on the news tonight about it causing potential delays at airports in the region tomorrow. I could only imagine what will happen on Friday morning if Charley rumbles through before I catch my flight to Nashville.
Tomorrow night is the big eviction ceremony on Big Brother 5. I've managed to get hooked on that show; with the Four Horsemen now destroyed as an alliance, the house is beginning to split into a new alliance: the twins (Adria & Natalie, who are identical twins living in the house, and Drew & Diane, who have twins who live outside of the house) versus Nakomis, Will & Karen. With Jase all but guaranteed gone this week, that leaves Cowboy in limbo and Marvin as the ever-present wild card.
I can't say enough good things about the Google AdSense program. Today I received a surprise in the mail from Google -- a pamphlet on "eight ways to tweak your way to profitability". It didn't contain anything that I didn't already know, but it was interesting, nontheless...
