Paradox

Tueday
April 8, 2003

Part Two of my interview for the Research Director position went well this morning. This would be a perfect job for me to land, allowing me to handle that as a full-time gig and work with Bubba on the part-time tip with the royalty money flowing in. I can deal with that, for sure.

How about those Syracuse Orangemen? Beating Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas AND Kansas. Congrats to Jim Boeheim on a long-awaited national title. But at the same time, give credit to Roy Williams and his Jayhawks team for hanging in there when it looked like Syracuse was going to run away with it in the first half. They kept it close, and were just a Heinrich 3-point miss away from tying it up in the final moments.

I'd be shocked if Carmelo Anthony returns for his sophomore year at Syracuse. He has his national championship, his place among the all-time tournament greats, and now a chance to make millions. The only reason I could see him staying would be to ensure himself a #1 overall pick in the 2004 draft (with high school phenom LeBron James and 7' Serbian Darko Milicic likely to go at #1 and #2 in the 2003 draft).

I hope to have my federal tax return completed before the night is over. Luckily my form is rather simple to fill out, but still it is a time-consuming process...
